BD-02753: with Tom Izzo,
Michigan State University Head Coach,
2000 NCAA Champs, 3X National "Coach of the Year"

Coach Tom Izzo offers up a plethora of basketball nuggets for running a successful program. Before hitting the floor, he talks to coaches about how to develop accountability with players; this accountability model should be done before the season starts to set the tone for the season. Izzo's on-floor presentation begins with quick hitting plays against the zone. Once taught, these zone looks (Double, Fist down and Special) are executed against a live defense. Also, Izzo shares video highlights against the zone. Izzo demonstrates some of his favorite baseline out of bounds plays in addition to a play for winning the tip and one for losing the tip. Shifting to the defensive end of the floor, he focuses on stance and positioning, as well as the line of the ball concept. Next, the 3-on-3 close out drill is demonstrated and executed on the floor. The drill progresses to 4-on-4 to include defending the flare screen and pin down screen. By adding an extra offensive player, the drill becomes 4 v 5. This drill demands great communication by the defense. Five concepts for guarding on-ball screens are presented. This is a great chance to get inside the mind of a basketball coaching great!

Legendary coach Bob Hurley presents an on-the-court clinic presentation that details both his highly successful Zone Offense and Motion Offense philosophies with various sets and quick hitters.

Zone Offense Philosophy
Force your opponent to guard you from sideline to sideline. Hurley reveals why it is important to dribble more against zone defense than it is to dribble against man-to-man defense. See how to effectively attack zones from behind to give your team easy lay-ups.

Defeating any Zone Defense
Hurley demonstrates five different offensive sets for attacking any zone defense you may face. He explains how to attack the weak side of a zone to create a simple 2-1 advantage with a ball reversal.

Motion Offense Philosophy
Hurley delivers 10 concepts that make his Motion Offense so successful, including: Fitting motion to your team, "tempo-ing" the game, and moving with a purpose while reading your teammates. He also provides you with an inbounds play he has used for 35 years that is so good he had to run it out of a regular set. Learn audibles and numbered cuts that you can use to keep your offense free-flowing.

Hurley shares two drills he uses to help build your own motion offense. The 11 Pass Drill and the Overplay Drill are based upon the offense making clean passes and using screens to get open as no dribbling is allowed

These are the same offenses that Bob Hurley has used to win three USA Today National Championships. Order now and use Coach Hurley's instruction to add a new wrinkle to your Zone and Motion Offenses.

BD-04248E: Steve Wojciechowski, Duke University Associate Head Coach;
1998 Naismith Defensive Player of the Year, 2x All-ACC Team, Honorable Mention AP All American, 2x National Champion as assistant coach, 5x ACC regular season champion, 3x Final Four appearances, part of 2008 Gold Medal Coaching Staff

Steve Wojciechowski reveals the drills that have made Duke University one of the top defensive teams in the country for the past decade. Now you can shore up your man defense using this complete defensive progression.

Individual Defense
From defensive stance and slides to working out of help-side positions to stop dribble penetration, Wojciechowski leaves no stone unturned as he teaches individual defense.

He demonstrates how to contest and pressure the ball with confidence and quick decision making skills. You will see footwork, hand and body positions that will make you a defensive threat and leave opposing players wishing you were guarding someone else.

2-on-2 Drills
Coach Wojciechowski moves from 1-on-1 drills to 2-on-2 drills adding a help side defender that must communicate with the on-ball defender to create confidence between teammates. In his 2-on-2 drills, players learn how to use a commanding voice to communicate with each other, how to pivot and close out, and defend off-ball cutters.

3-on-3 and 4-on-4 Drills
In Duke's 3-on-3 driving lines, players learn to communicate and stunt on a drive, help one another, and force the offense to work hard using as many passes and as much movement, as possible. Use Wojo's 4-on-4 shell to ensure your players are constantly closing out, communicating, and staying in a stance throughout the entire possession.

5-on-5 Drills
Coach Wojciechowski combines all of his defensive principles into a 5-on-5 half court defense. Coach demonstrates help-side defense and rotations to cover every scoring threat that a defense can face. He explains how they handle ball screens from the wing, post defense, and ball screens from the top of the key using two separate calls, Black and Blue.

Invite Coach Wojciechowski into your gym and build a commanding, pressure filled defense that no opponent will want to face.
